D20 Adventurer’s Folio

Get in touch

Email Hello@Praxis-HQ.ai.

It helps to include your device (for example “iPhone 16 Pro”), your iOS version, and the app version from the bottom of the main menu. If something looks wrong on a sheet, a screenshot answers most questions instantly.

Common questions

Where are my characters stored?

On your device, in the app’s own storage. They are included in your iPhone or iPad backup, so restoring a backup restores your heroes. Deleting the app deletes them — export a .folio (or a PDF) first if you want a copy.

I deleted the app and lost a character. Can you recover it?

No, and this is worth being plain about: the folio has no servers and no account system, so nothing is stored anywhere but your device. Nobody — including us — has a copy to restore from.

The way to never need this: swipe a hero and tap Export. The .folio file it hands you is a complete copy you keep, and Import Character brings it back.

How do I move a character to a new device?

Swipe a hero in My Heroes and tap Export. You get a .folio file — your character, whole — which you can AirDrop, email, or save to Files and carry however you like. On the other device, open the Folio menu in My Heroes and tap Import Character.

Restoring the new device from an iCloud or computer backup also brings every hero with it, if you would rather move the lot at once.

I bought The Folio (or the Dice Pack) and it is locked again.

Open the same purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to the Apple Account that made them, so make sure you are signed in with that account.

Which rule sets do I get?

1st Edition (1977–1988) and the 2024 revision are both in the app and free. 5th Edition (2014) is a separate one-time purchase that adds that ruleset, its own sheet and its spell tables. A character keeps the ruleset it was made with.

Why can I only keep one character?

The free folio holds one hero. The Folio is a single one-time purchase — no subscription — that lifts the limit and unlocks the class pages, blank printable sheets and unrestricted printing.

Why is a printed character’s name locked?

On the free tier, printing a character sets its identity in ink — name, class, race, alignment and ability scores stop being editable, though everything you actually play with stays editable and reprints stay unlimited. Unlocking The Folio removes the freeze.

How do I zoom the sheet?

Pinch. The page re-typesets as it grows rather than magnifying a blurry image, so the small print stays crisp. Double-tap toggles between fit and 2×.

The dice roll but I want the result faster.

Dice Tray → Preferences → Quick roll skips the cutscene and shows a compact result instead.

Printing looks wrong / prints two pages on one sheet.

Turn off double-sided printing in the print dialog. The sheet is designed as two single-sided pages.

Can I use it on iPad?

Yes. The same purchase covers iPhone and iPad through your Apple Account.

Reporting a bug

Send the email above with what you did, what you expected and what happened. Screenshots are gold, especially for anything visual — a value in the wrong place, type that does not fit, art that looks off.

Feature requests

Genuinely welcome. Spell tracking for caster classes and more rules families are the two most-asked-for additions and are on the list.
